Club Nights
Club nights are a fantastic opportunity for swimmers to come together to compete and be together as a club. Swimmers can compete in up to 3 races. Each squad has an area on pool deck where their coach sits and are encouraged to stay with their squad when not competing so they can watch their squad mates and get ready for their next race. Swimmers when competing should get into the habit of speaking to their coach well before the race for a race plan and after the race for a debrief. This is an important process to encourage swimmer / coach communication.
Entering Club Nights
Prior to club nights swimmers are encouraged to discuss with their coach the races they are selecting. Coaches will be aware of the distance, stroke and focus of training and will be best placed to recommend races. Go to the Upcoming Club Race Nights section for more information on how to enter.
Marshalling
SOPAC Swim Club uses “self marshalling” for club nights.
Tip: It is a good idea to write your child’s event numbers on their hand so that they can be ready for their call to marshalling.
Club Night Parent Roster
Help from parents is vitally important and a big thankyou to all the parents for contributing to the success of club meets. Assistance from parents is required for Timekeeping, Marshalling, Check Starting, etc, all of which are easy tasks to help with and we would encourage people to get involved. If you need any help, please ask the Head Coach or the Technical Officer and they will organise for you to be buddied with someone who is more experienced who may assist you in becoming familiar with some roles. Parents can check TeamAPP for the Roster.
Parents and General Spectators On Club Nights
Parents who are not working on pool deck will be required to sit in the stands and meet their child
